Professional Disinfecting Services for Virus Removal
Disinfecting services play an important part of maintaining a healthy environment at work, home and in our vehicles. We naturally associate clean surroundings as desirable and safe.
But the introduction of the COVID-19 pandemic into our lives is highlighting the need for disinfecting as well.
What we cannot see can harm us and contribute to continued spread of this virus.

Why Use Commercial Disinfecting Services?
A disinfection program is part of the first line of defense to reduce the spread of illness or catching it yourself at work, home, running errands or enjoying activities.
Vaccinations help tremendously, as with the case of influenza, but vaccines are not always available. When a new or novel virus appears such as COVID-19, cleaning and sanitizing is effective in keeping well and staying open for business.
In other instances, like Hepatitis C, no vaccine exists. In these situations, avoiding high risk behaviors and disinfecting your surroundings is the key to reducing exposures.
Commercial cleaning alone is not enough to eliminate most viruses. Cleaning is a vital first step to virus removal and needs to be followed up with professional disinfection products and protocols.
The three key steps for success are:
- Remove dirt and grime and wipe down surfaces. This allows the disinfectant spray or solution to contact the virus.
- Apply spray or solution to surfaces.
- Allow the spray or solution to dwell so it remains in contact with the virus long enough to kill it. One important thing to remember about the difference between regular cleaning vs disinfecting is that dwell time prevents turning disinfectants into just cleaners.
Where Are Disinfecting Services Needed?
Wherever we go we want to feel safe and provide a safe environment for those we are with.
Many of us are familiar with the cold or flu that travels around the office when school starts after the summer break. Or one person's “just a bug” becomes everyone's bug. Productivity plummets.
Commercial disinfection is of utmost importance due to direct impacts on the bottom line. Employees need to remain well to continue working. Clients need to feel safe entering your place of business. News of an outbreak spreads fast and causes people to question where they will meet, shop, eat, etc.
Businesses have stricter requirements than our home settings and often include meeting professional, industry or provincial standards. Maintaining those standards with current staffing levels is an additional strain on staff, especially in times of outbreaks.
Focus on your business instead of cleaning with the peace of mind that workers and customers are safe. That includes your business inventory and equipment. Mayken™'s as-needed services and regular disinfecting programs can be customized to meet your business needs. Downtime is kept to a minimum using our electrostatic technology and fogging equipment that covers large areas in a short period of time.
Our disinfectant spray is another viable solution for easing the burden of keeping commercial offices and storefronts safe. High volume businesses like restaurants, gyms, hair salons, physiotherapists, and such, can be sanitized quickly without the need to wipe off sticky residue before the next client.
Our homes are our sanctuary. They need to feel safe and secure. That's not always easy when we are out and about in the city for work, running errands, fitness, hobbies, visiting, etc. In any day we cross paths with others with whom we know and do not know. Any one of those crossings could introduce something into our house.
Our disinfecting spray is perfect for feeling safe wherever you go. The compact bottle easily slips into a purse, backpack or coat pocket. Whenever and whatever you feel needs to be santized, the bottle is with you.
At home, high touch surfaces such as light switches, doorknobs, smartphones, and remotes are sanitized quickly. Spray a surface and move onto the next. Peace of mind could not be faster.
Vehicles deserve a special mention of their own. They can be an office on the go or our home away from home for how much time we spend in them. Knowing our cars, trucks and vans are safe and clean means you can hop in and go.
Our spray solution is well suited for the individual to keep their vehicle disinfected while on the go and at the end of each day. For fleet vehicles, having a trusted partner to take care of disinfecting makes sense. We have your vehicles ready to roll when your drivers are ready to go.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
For commercial businesses, not having regular disinfecting protocols can impact your bottom line. Your customers need to feel safe entering your premises. We have the products and tools to disinfect large spaces in a short period of time. Having a scheduled professional disinfecting service means you can focus on your business and have the peace of mind that your workers and customers are safe.
How often disinfecting is needed will depend on the type of business you have. Businesses with high visitor volumes and high touch contact will require disinfecting more often. Mayken™ offers regular disinfecting programs as well as as-needed services.
The answer depends on what type of surfaces you need to disinfect. Both methods use pressure to create aerosol droplets. With the ULV fogger, these droplets fall by gravity onto surfaces. However, with electrostatic sprayers the droplets become charged particles as they leave the sprayer. So instead of just falling onto surfaces, the droplets repel from each other and cling to the opposite charges on the surrounding surfaces. This causes the disinfectant to “wrap around” and cling to the entire surface. If you have surfaces like cans or gym equipment, the electrostatic sprayer will be more effective in covering all sides.
The amount of time required to disinfect your business depends on the type of surfaces you have and the size of your space. While spray fogging can clean large open areas quickly (in some cases, up to 18,000 sq. ft. per hour), electrostatic sprayers are more effective at wrapping the disinfectant material uniformly around surfaces and objects. Our technicians can assess your environment and disinfecting requirements and provide you with a quote.
For the best disinfecting results, yes. Surfaces need to be clean from dirt and grime so the disinfectant can come in direct contact with the germs rather than just on top of the dirt or debris.
